2018 GLS Technology
Thanks to enhanced side doors and an innovative EASY ENTRY® system integrated in the second-row of seats, making full use out of the versatile Mercedes-Benz GLS has never been easier. For all those times when you need to haul an extra person or two, simply press a button and watch the second-row seat slide forward to open up an easily-accessible third-row of seats. Inside of its spacious interior, seven adults will be able to ride comfortably across three rows of seating. For the times when you need more space for groceries, the second- and third-row of seats fold down providing you with up to 93.8 cubic feet of cargo space.
For the times when your adventure takes you off the beaten path, or the road conditions are less than ideal, the standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive system is capable of sending power to the wheels that need it most as soon as it detects any slipping. To keep you and your precious cargo comfy while you're driving on less-than-ideal conditions, the 4-wheel AIRMATIC® suspension system adapts to the road, and keeps your ride smooth. *
*No system, regardless of how advanced, can overcome the laws of physics or correct careless driving. Please always wear your seat belt. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Best performance in snow is obtained with winter tires.
2018 GLS Technology
In order to keep your back-seat drivers happy during trips that last a little longer, two flat screens have been implemented on the back of the front seats. These flat screens can be used for games, movies, and best of all, can have different systems going at the same time. That way your little ones don't have to fight over who gets to pick the movie. Simply use the wireless headsets and each passenger will be able to enjoy their movie or game without disturbing the other. Where was that when we were growing up?
Up front, the 2018 GLS features a host of Intelligent Drive features that can be displayed right next to your speedometer. These technologies are able to monitor the areas around the GLS in order to sense any potential danger to your vehicle. An example of this is the DISTRONIC® adaptive cruise control feature. By utilizing sensors located at the front of the vehicle, this system monitors the distance between your GLS and vehicle ahead of it. When it senses the distance is shrinking, it can automatically adjust your speed to keep you at a safe distance behind. **
**DISTRONIC® adaptive cruise control is no substitute for active driving involvement. It does not adapt cruising speed in response to stationary objects, nor does it predict the curvature and lane layout of the road ahead or the movement of vehicles ahead.
